2 Sunsets, 1 Day: It’s Just About… Life

sunset

Can you imagine? It’s possible, or at least it used to be. Actually, it could still be for you.

For 30 years it was one of the wonders of the world: The Concorde, racing through the sky at speeds of more than 1,300 mph. Few could afford to fly, but those who did have stories to tell.

I just listened to a story told by business philosopher Jim Rohn and his chance encounter with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger back in the 70’s. Kissinger was in Europe, on business as usual for the United States of America. When Jim met Henry, Kissinger told him he had just finished breakfast in Paris,he  was on this flight headed to London for lunch and then would watch the sunset. He was going to get back on the Concorde to have dinner in New York and watch the sunset…again.

2 sunsets, 1 day.

What a wondrous thing, what an incredible opportunity, yet we all possess the power to experience the same, every day.

It’s possible for you, if you wake every morning and face every day with the same purpose; ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Take whatever it is you want to feel for yourself: joy, happiness, pleasure and find a way to make someone else feel the same, without expectation of anything in return.

That’s called giving, sharing, purpose, significance.

Harness that bright light in your heart as soon as you awake, (maybe even as you read this blog), share your amazing light with someone else and then remain in awareness to watch the sun go down in the early evening. Later on that night, think in gratitude for what you accomplished that day, especially the moments when you shared your light with someone else and made them shine. You’ll get the chance to experience that same sunset again, this time in your heart and mind, just as you fall asleep.

2 sunsets, 1 day.

It’s still possible.

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
