Beauty & The Beast: It’s Just About… Life.

They always say to respect your mother. This winter Mother Nature is making sure you understand the concept.

She’s just like any other woman, so jaw-dropping beautiful at one moment, like the scene on TV the other night, as snowflakes fell silently in front of the illuminated Capitol building in DC, only to turn on a dime, into a biting zero-degree wind the next day that ripped through you like a woman scorned.

Never underestimate her power. Just ask the drivers in Atlanta, stuck in their cars, on a road to nowhere because of some snow and ice, unprepared for Mother Nature’s surprise visit. It’s proof you should always be at the ready, because you never know when Mother might drop by, or what mood she is in.

She can be Jeckyl and Hyde at the same time. Just ask the skiers in the mountains of Maryland last week who were excited to no end when Mother Nature blessed them with many inches, and some places several feet of light, powdery snow.

The same snow which brought life to a standstill for a day and caused dangerous conditions on the roads around Baltimore.

She can be graceful, powerful, vengeful and breathlessly, nearly indescribably beautiful. Think ahead to the coming of Spring or think back to the colors of the Fall, changes in seasons which make the world seem to turn just a bit slower, or maybe it’s just that we wish it would, so as to have more time to embrace those moments.

“Weather” or not you want to pay attention, you have little choice. Mother Nature has you in the palm of her hands.

Remember, respect your Mother.

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
