Failure: It’s Just About… Life.

Who wants to fail? Who likes to fail? Who avoids failure at all cost? If it’s you, then the path to success might never happen at all. Because if you are not failing, it means you are not trying. Massive failure doesn’t make you one, it makes you a leader.

Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times while creating the light bulb. “I have not failed, I just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Edison

Legendary CEO Jack Welch says the quickest way to success is massive failure. “I’ve learned that mistakes can often be as good a teacher as success.” – Welch

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak failed countless times designing the Apple computer. “If you’re afraid of failing you won’t get very far.” – Jobs

The bottom line is they were all trying something… trying to find a better way, trying to align themselves with their purpose, create their own destiny and leave a legacy for all-time.

Trip up, fall down, go sideways, it all means you are moving… sitting still will definitely lead you somewhere – it’s a destination populated by too many, it’s called nowhere.

“Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” – Winston Churchill

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” – Mayo Angelou

Failure is part of life, if you are living a life as big as you can imagine.

And how about those who are larger than life? Take baseball players for example. The best 750 in the world play at the Major League level, and the best-of-the-best fail 7 out of 10 times at the plate. A 70% rate of failure makes them some of the highest-paid athletes in the world. Talk about failing all the way to the bank.

So on the way to your Why, make mistakes, suffer setbacks, embrace defeat…just never, ever be defeated.

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
