It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere: It’s Just About… Life.

beer
That it is.

As I was about to sip my first beer at a local restaurant with friends, I saw a sign above the bar with a quote from Benjamin Franklin, “Beer is proof that G-d loves us and wants us to be happy”. Well, Ben as we know was a smart guy, he must know something about alcohol! As it turns out that line is probably an urban legend and Franklin really said something about rain on a vineyard entering the roots of the vines so we can turn grapes into wine. Who really cares? I’ll drink to that too.

But it got me thinking and searching for some of the best lines about beer I could find. I have a favorite myself, but I’ll save it til the end. So before you tip one back this weekend, consider these as inspiration πŸ˜‰

“Milk is for babies. When you grow up you have to drink beer.” – Arnold Schwarzanegger

“Beer makes you feel the way you want to feel without beer.” – Henry Lawson, Australian Poet and Writer

“You can’t be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline – it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.”- -Frank Zappa

“Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza. -Dave Barry

“24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?” – Stephen Wright, Comedian

“Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world.” – Kaiser Wilhelm

“A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it’s better to be thoroughly sure.” -Czech Proverb

“I would give all my fame for a pot of ale and safety.” -Shakespeare, β€˜King Henry V.’

“Religions change; beer and wine remain.” – Hervey Allen – Historian, Poet, Author

“What care I how time advances? I am drinking ale today.” – Edgar Allan Poe

And maybe my favorite…..
“Some see the glass as half full, others see the glass as half empty. I just wonder who the hell has been drinking my beer!” – As seen on a T-shirt, Anywhere

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
Bottoms up.
