It’s a flaw I’ve noticed recently, it’s been bothering me and it’s one I need to correct. You can’t see it here because you are reading typed copy on a computer screen, or mobile device, but I’ve seen it in black and white on paper and I need to fix it because it’s my issue.
I’m not dotting my i’s. You’ve heard the expression, to make sure everything is correct and you haven’t skipped a step, to dot your i’s and cross your t’s right? I’ve got the t’s down… but I’ve noticed I have stopped dotting my i’s. Now it could be I’m just rushing through my writing on paper, but not really because I write things down every day, things I am grateful for, instructions, notes on paper, thank you notes, work stuff, so I’m not always writing too fast. But I’m either having to go back and dot the i’s or I’m skipping the step entirely.
Is it a big deal, maybe not? But if you want things to change, you have to change and I should be on top of this, because it could also mean I’m missing or skipping a step when it comes to planning for things in life. I want all to be in order, at least the things over which I have control. So that means I need to cross my t’s and dot my i’s to insure I am covering all the bases.
To me it’s an example of the smallest things making the biggest difference. What’s a dot in the big scheme of things? Not much I guess, but put all the naked i’s together and I’ve got a problem. So I’m going to pay attention, slow it down, make sure I am writing more slowly, with purpose and clarity because I don’t want to skip a step. If you fail to plan you plan to fail. Failure is not an option.
Dot my i’s, cross my t’s and make sure all is in order.
Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
