Halloween is just two days away. The end of October is upon us, November is almost here, the season of giving begins.
So for the next few days, a chance to turn fear into hope. It Takes 2. Surviving Breast Cancer: A Spouse’s Story, began October as a #1 Amazon Best Seller and already we have donated more than $1,300 to five different charities. The goal is to get to $1,500 by the end of this month. To help, I’m going to give back to you in two ways.
First of all – I’m giving content. On Wednesday and Thursday, October 30th and 31st, if you buy the book, as either Kindle e-book, or paperback and send me proof of your receipt by e-mail, (markbrodinsky@gmail.com), then on Friday, November 1st, I will send you a pdf file of the EXTRA CHAPTER which never made it into print for It Takes 2: our visit to Little Vinnie’s Tattoo Shop. That’s right, order the book on Wednesday or Thursday, get nipples by November. (Order at www.spouses-story.com or www.amazon.com/author/markbrodinsky)
If you have already bought the book, I will also send you that chapter. Here’s how: send me an e-mail with the title from the journal entry on the evening of May 11th. There were two entries that day. I want you to e-mail me the title from the entry that night and I will send you the same pdf of the extra chapter on Friday, November 1st. (markbrodinsky@gmail.com)
But there’s more. Since the ultimate goal is to give, I will also double the donation on October 30th and on Halloween, to 40% of proceeds from book sales, these proceeds will be donated to the Hopewell Cancer Support Group. In fact, from the book signing at Deja Vu Salon this past Sunday, to tonight’s book signing at 7pm at Breathe Books in Hampden, and this end-of-month promotion, all monies being donated are going to Hopewell. Hopewell’s mission is completely in line with the message of It Takes 2, here’s a quote from the website:
…Because it takes more than medicine. Since 1993, our work at HopeWell Cancer Support has been based on the premise that people affected by cancer need more than just medical care. HopeWell’s programs are specifically designed to complement the medical system by helping people with cancer, and their loved ones, cope with the life-changing impact of a cancer diagnosis. At HopeWell, we recognize that an emotional response to cancer is normal and that being surrounded by people who understand is part of the healing process.
Hopewell, (www.hopewellcancersupport.org), is dedicated to helping all affected by the cancer diagnosis. They know it takes two and many more, when cancer comes to call. So if you wouldn’t mind answering the call, and helping to spread the message, please share this blog on social media, by e-mail, word of mouth, or however you chose to get the word out. Buy the book, or tell someone to do so, get the extra chapter, by doing so I will make a bigger donation, we’ll get to $1,500 and spread the message of hope and healing.
Oh and by the way, November 1st is my wife Debbie’s birthday, this year, cancer free. Help us celebrate.
Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
