Time Of My Life: It’s Just About… Life.

LiveItOutLoudAnyone who has read this blog knows that it’s just about life… but more than just life, finding a way to truly live, with purpose, with meaning, with an end in mind. Trying to encourage others to live a dream, while I too am making the journey.

Anyone who has read this blog, might also know how often music is mentioned. I love a good song that defines a moment, or lyrics that define life. And why not… music is the fabric woven into all of our lives. Some weeks ago I posted about the song “Life is a Highway”, performed by Rascal Flatts and Journey during a Crossroads special. The other day, it was a David Cook song, “Time of My Life”, that made me stop and think. I had not heard that song in sometime, but it sure fit the theme of this blog, doing my best to live a dream, by encouraging others to do the same. The chorus from that song has stayed with me and it’s a pretty good mid-week pick me-up.

And I’ll taste every moment, and live it out loud.
I know this is the time, this is the time to be more than a name, or a face in the crowd.
I know this is the time, this is the time of my life.

The first line of that verse brings it home… taste every moment and live it out loud. If you can do that, you are on your way. What does that mean to you? For me it means taking stock of what I’m thankful for every day and then looking for an opportunity to move one step forward, no matter how small, to give back and share something of value. It’s at the very core of why I sit down to write on this site as much as I can. If I can encourage someone else to think about what matters, gain vision on what their dream is, and fight to reach it, then we all will live our lives out loud. So loud in fact, the sound will echo through the hearts and mind of all who will listen. You can hear it now, if you simply listen to your heart.

All that I needed was there all along, within my reach.
As close as the beat of my heart.
So I’ll taste every moment and live it out loud.
I know this is the time of my life.

To become what we are capable of becoming is the only true end in life –
Robert Louis Stevenson

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
