Your BMI: It’s Just About… Life.

It’s not what you think. It’s not your Body Mass Index, though as we dive head first into November and December and the holiday season, those words are sure to keep coming up! No, there’s a deeper meaning to you BMI.

It’s three other words, which when linked together can make a more purposeful life: belief, mojo, inspiration.

I saw a great quote about believing by author and artist Doe Zantamata: “To be happy, you don’t have to do anything new. You just have to remember how to believe again. Believe everything good is possible. Believe in your dreams. Believe in people. Believe in love. But most of all believe in yourself.” It always comes back to the simple things in life which give us the power to move forward and the positive energy to accomplish big things. This is just one.

What about your mojo? Mojo is the positive spirit, that starts from the inside and radiates to the outside. Mojo is strongest when we are experiencing both happiness and meaning in what we are doing and then communicating this experience to the world around us. In his book on Mojo, author Marshall Goldsmith says, “Mojo is the moment when we do something that’s purposeful, powerful, and positive and the rest of the world recognizes it.” If you believe in yourself, you can create some serious mojo, share it with others who then recognize your powerful force and they in turn, are inspired.

Which brings us to inspiration. Want to inspire others? Remember how to believe again. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams, believe in others. Then take those beliefs and build a positive spirit within you, your mojo, show it to the world by doing something that matters, something of purpose and others will follow your lead. Don’t just be successful, be significant. Success is for you, significance is bringing others into your world, taking them on the journey and changing their lives as well. Create inspiration and everyone will benefit.

That’s a BMI that could change the world.

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.

  1. I like that Mark: “Don’t just be successful, be significant.” Simple yet profound!!

  2. Thanks Mark. Thought about my BMI this am at Starbucks after an hour spin class at 6 am. The Pumpkin scone that look incredible was 490 calories. Almost half of my daily intake. Was Happy with my girlish figure this am after spin, and thought I would keep it that way! As Bobby McFerrin said in his song….. Don’t Worry, BE HAPPY!

    1. Did you think about your BMI or your BMI. Have a “significant” day Chuck. I think you always do!!
