By Me, For Her, For You: It’s Just About… Life.

2013 08 15 It Takes Two (v2)
Yes, I wrote it. And yesterday I held it in my hands for the first time. And I took a good look at the place just under the neatly crafted cover design to make sure it was true, next to the word By, was my name. I wasn’t just dreaming, it was a dream come true. But not exactly.

First of all it’s pieces of a dream, this is just the beginning of what is possible, barely scratching the surface of a combination of vision, will, determination and hard work. You can live the dream, that’s the whole magic of it, living it, not getting there, because where is there? The joy comes from the journey. The journey is what keeps you going, keeps the adrenaline pumping, keeps you thinking of bigger ideas and better ways to achieve them… all with the end in mind, to find a way to harness that energy, talent and use it to help other people.

Then there is the core of this journey. Of all the many messages sent to me on Facebook, (and I realize many don’t read this blog from Facebook, it comes directly to your inbox when it posts), there was one from Kimberly Phillips-Simonetti offering me congratulations for becoming an author: “Fantastic! It is sad you needed to write it, but you turned lemons into lemon aid. Congrats.” Lemon aid, love that. All true, and never far from my mind. Don’t think for a moment I am lost in the moment.

I’m going to share something with you now, just as I did in the journal on Caringbridge for more than a year… a private moment. I had the book in my possession for hours yesterday and I could have shown it to many people. I wanted to share it with some important people who helped me get to this place, but there was only one person who deserved to see it first, because she lived it.

I took off early from work, bought some roses, bought a card and left them on the kitchen island for my wife Debbie to see when she walked in from work. Writing the card was difficult because as powerful as words can be, there are times they still fall short. But the message I wanted to make sure I delivered was this: “Debbie, no matter where life takes us, this will forever be my gift to you for what you endured. Sophie, Emily and I are forever in your debt.”

A Gift for Debbie. By, Mark Brodinsky. A story I hope brings value and inspiration to the world. Lemon Aid.

Worldwide launch September 26th on Amazon. 8 days away.

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.

Mark (Author) 🙂
