Three Words: It’s Just About… Life.

Three little words.

When spoken, written, even texted, they can make magic. Three is a magic number, again. If you don’t believe me read the blog post from earlier this year, (https://markbrodinsky.com/2013/03/15/3-is-a-magic-number-its-just-about-life/).

Three little words. Words that can make someone joyful, or comforted. Words that can move mountains, push you to do something great, inspire you to be a better person, motivate you to be your best.

Three little words. Words that can take you to the next level, make you feel as if you are in a higher place, cement the bond between you and another human being.

Three little words. Words that when delivered at just the right time can reach into your heart, your mind, even your soul and inspire you to make magic.

Three little words. Words we don’t say enough, and if we did, we could be transformed and transform others on a daily basis.

Three little words.

Thursday I was preparing to give a big speech to a crowded ballroom and relay an important message of education and inspiration to a meeting of many of my peers at my financial services firm. I wrote the speech five days prior to that event. But the night before, after reading it aloud to myself again, I realized I was reading it and there was no way that could fly with me. It was a great essay, but not a great speech. It would have to be changed.

So 9 o’clock the night before my talk I was revamping everything with little time left to make sure it would be exactly what I wanted the next day. Although I was confident, and I embraced the opportunity to speak, because of those last minute major revisions, I was uneasy.

My wife Debbie knew I had become anxious as I sat down the night before to rework the entire talk. She also knew I was excited and humbled about being asked to deliver in front of the large group. She wouldn’t be there for the speech, she had to work.

As I sat in the ballroom last Thursday afternoon, one speaker away from taking my turn, I felt my phone buzz. The text was from Debbie… it read, “good luck.” But that’s only two words.

It was the next three that made the difference… “I love you”. I kept that text in front of me until it was my time and then I delivered, big time.

Three little words. And let me add a few more to this line… “Thanks Deb, I love you too.”

Until next time, thanks for taking the time.
